This is the story of our adventures -- every day and extraordinary; our dreams -- tiny and grand; our gardens -- ornamental and sustaining; this is the story of our journey.  We are a family of four living a mindful, simple life here in Los Angeles County.  We are green, conscious, and forward thinking.  We keep an eye on the past because some of the best things have already been done and bear repeating.  Walk and talk with us, have a glass of wine, taste a peach or a tomato, blow some bubbles and watch them drift up over the canyon ridge.  Enjoy!

Greggie's new "standing board"

Recently Greggie has decided that she doesn't like little potties. This has made a girl who has been potty independent for a year not so independent! She has to ask Mama to help her onto the potty. SO, I decided she needed a new step stool (standing board, as she calls it). And I figured I could make a simple one from some scrap wood lying around the yard. Here is the result:

And here it is in place. The best thing is, she loves it!

I love it! It looks lovely - you don't give yourself enough credit! It actually, to use my grandmother's words - "puts me in the mind of" your new kitchen.

I love it too! Colven is all about his stool and big potty, he started refusing to use the little potty when he decided he was too big for diapers! haha! That little potty only worked for "fun" pee I guess?! Glad yours got more use hehe.

My dad is making one for Zach. He needs it to reach the handles on the sink and to sit on the big potty. Now, if he'd just "accidentally" pee in the potty, maybe he'd get it.

I love it! Anything to make it easier, right? I'm glad Kwabena is tall. He just slides right up. Oh, and he loves to dip his butt in the "pee-pee water" while he's pooping. Um...don't even ask! LOL

I need one of these too! Shorter though...Noah is tall enough to pee in the potty but he still likes to stand on our feet for just a few inches of extra height.
