This is the story of our adventures -- every day and extraordinary; our dreams -- tiny and grand; our gardens -- ornamental and sustaining; this is the story of our journey.  We are a family of four living a mindful, simple life here in Los Angeles County.  We are green, conscious, and forward thinking.  We keep an eye on the past because some of the best things have already been done and bear repeating.  Walk and talk with us, have a glass of wine, taste a peach or a tomato, blow some bubbles and watch them drift up over the canyon ridge.  Enjoy!

A cat, a dog, a garden. And a couple kids thrown in for fun.

The cat

the dog

And the garden is always everywhere.

Here are my peas a week or so ago -- they have grown substantially since but I haven't gotten around to a new picture.
The pomegranate tree has leafed out into glory.  It's still small but maybe this is the year it will fruit.
And maybe this is the year for our pear too -- it has fruited the last few years but not prolifically.  This is year it has the most blossoms I've seen.
The fig

For the blackberries

The camelia

Azalea
Flowers for a friend's salad
Redwood cones

And oh yeah, the kids!  Dog, cat, and kid, with shadow

Hammock and hidden kid

kid smells ribes and climbs

I was so tempted to grab some ladybugs at the farmer's market yesterday, but it was too nuts! I want to do it soon. Liam had fun releasing them last year at our old house.
