This is the story of our adventures -- every day and extraordinary; our dreams -- tiny and grand; our gardens -- ornamental and sustaining; this is the story of our journey.  We are a family of four living a mindful, simple life here in Los Angeles County.  We are green, conscious, and forward thinking.  We keep an eye on the past because some of the best things have already been done and bear repeating.  Walk and talk with us, have a glass of wine, taste a peach or a tomato, blow some bubbles and watch them drift up over the canyon ridge.  Enjoy!

For Erin, my fig!

Our little tree is now two years old. Last year it made one fig. This year, two. I hope it makes more than 4 next year!

Have I told you how jealous I am of your garden? I'm starting one this fall, I hope. We got a compost bin finally, so now we just need to start filling it up.

Good luck with your fall garden! Greggie just got stung by a yellow jacket. Cross your fingers she's not allergic like Alex and me. How terrible is it that my first thought was "thank god it wasn't Alex." I'm hoping that you always get a freebie. Her thumb is swollen and she keeps holding it out saying, "I got stung by bee. Right dere."

What a brut she is! YAY! :)

Marlyn those are two of the best lookin' figs I've ever seen! I bet next year that tree goes NUTS! Our three year old tree made 3, our 4 year old tree is covered... I think at least 25 of them? Feed that sucker and watch it go nuts next year! YAY!
