This is the story of our adventures -- every day and extraordinary; our dreams -- tiny and grand; our gardens -- ornamental and sustaining; this is the story of our journey.  We are a family of four living a mindful, simple life here in Los Angeles County.  We are green, conscious, and forward thinking.  We keep an eye on the past because some of the best things have already been done and bear repeating.  Walk and talk with us, have a glass of wine, taste a peach or a tomato, blow some bubbles and watch them drift up over the canyon ridge.  Enjoy!

Village Green Pictures of the Day - July 9

This is what's known in my house as... A MIRACLE! hahahaha!

We had a lovely dinner, sans Greggie, who passed out much earlier -- up at 7 and no nap -- of lamb chops, salad, and buttered pasta. Gregg marinated the lamb in herbs, olive oil, and lemon juice and grilled them over mesquite. I don't have an after picture.

I made a yummy salad of heirloom tomatoes, basil, and kirby cukes:

Some smoked hams:

We've been figuring out the camping gear to plan for next week's trip to Yosemite. The girls are ready to sleep in the wild:

Their wonderful new tutus!!!

I Freecycled the glider that was in their room and moved their dresser out of their closet. Look at their big girl room! Too bad Daddy sleeps there -- not really a big guy room, eh???

And I made yogurt!!!

So that is strawberry yoghurt? Where are you camping?

Raspberry. It came out good. A little tart for the girls because I only used 2 teaspoons of sugar for 7 containers of yogurt. I'll put a little more next time.

We're camping in Sequoia.
